PETER M. WALZER BEGINS TERM AS PRESIDENT
OF THE AMERICAN ACADEMY OF MATRIMONIAL LAWYERS
Chicago, IL, November 13, 2018 – The American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers (AAML) today announced that Peter M. Walzer has been named the group’s president.
Walzer begins his term as president after serving as a leader within AAML for more than 16 years. AAML is an organization comprised of the nation’s top 1,600 matrimonial attorneys, based in cities across the United States.
Walzer succeeds Madeline Marzano-Lesnevich, who completed her one-year term during the group’s annual conference last weekend in Chicago.
“AAML is one of the country’s premier legal organizations, focused on providing expertise and support on topics like blended families, child abduction, domestic violence and tax issues affecting divorcing families. Having been a member for the past 24 years, I am honored now to serve as president,” said Walzer.
Walzer is the founding partner of the law firm Walzer Melcher LLP, a practice focused exclusively on family law with offices in Woodland Hills, CA. He is the past chair of the Los Angeles County Bar Association’s Family Law Section, a past president of the Southern California Chapter of the American Academy of
Matrimonial Lawyers, and former chair of the executive committee of the State Bar Family Law Section. He has been a practicing attorney for 36 years.
